The American YouTuber Xiaomanyc, Xiaoma (Chinese: 小马在纽约) is famous for his ability to speak many languages. Most of his videos are about him shocking random people with his ability to speak Chinese, and that’s mostly what his channel is based on. Being from the U.S, A country where most people are frowned upon for speaking a different language, it’s now a curiosity when someone can speak more than one language. It’s no surprise Xiaomanyc has been able to capitalize on YouTube for his ability to speak more than one language. The Youtuber currently has over 3 million subscribers.
His growth has not been without Criticism, mostly by unwittingly using individuals in local Chinatown for clout. Some even making fun of him for exaggerating his ability to speak Chinese.
The @Iceman_Hof collab will happen at some point 😅
@realXiaomanyc when are you gonna try dutch?? (Netherlands), greetz😁👍
Feel like time is flying by too fast? Just book 8 hours of Yoruba tutoring in one day and things will slow WAY down...😮💨
I don't think anyone else has ever needed to learn Punjabi, Dutch, and Yoruba at the same time.
The ironic reality is that the supposed "rigors" of classical grammatical education are next to useless for actual language learning and that this type of nostalgic prescriptivist fantasizing has done way more harm than good in the name of "rigorous" education @ScorpioMartian
Sometimes people ask how they can get Chinese like mine, but in reality there are lots of non-native speakers who speak better than me, including and especially this French guy who has the best Chinese I've ever heard from a foreigner https://youtu.be/vD_4NNnWTew
This was fun!!! Thanks @KevinAbroad1
The video is out! 😀 @realXiaomanyc
Language learning is no longer necessary. You're welcome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB0896MUdqg
I think my chance to learn an alien language could come a lot faster than anticipated!
Did you know that when @realXiaomanyc learned Mandarin, he heavily relied on Anki?
In this interview, I talk to Xiaoma about how he reached his current level in Mandarin during a one-year period of extremely intensive immersion and study in China!
Thanks man, always working on improving the course!
I’ve made so many connections & had so many fun interactions since I started to learn Chinese. Huge thanks to @realXiaomanyc seriously. His courses are great & he keeps improving them. Gonna put a link below in case anyone’s interested. Not an ad.
